For someone who looks like your best friend’s cousin, Lil Tecca sure knows how to make a name for himself. His infectious flow is hard to stop listening to and even harder not to dance to. The Queens, New York native proves he isn’t a one hit wonder (see 2019’s Ransom) and that he truly belongs in today’s rap game with Virgo World. On the thought process behind the project’s name, Tecca, whose birthday falls on August 26th, says he takes pride in being a Virgo. “We try to create a perfect world around us and there are benefits and downsides to it. I can be really optimistic but there are times when I’m not. No matter what though, I give it my all.” Maybe it’s his relatability that has made the 18 year old so popular thus far, and become his trademark.

After distinguishing himself from his peers with his now recognisable class clown look, Lil Tecca, born Tyler-Justin Sharpe, steps up his game with his debut album. Club-ready bangers like True To The Game and Royal Rumble remind fans he’s still an introvert despite his success; “I’m really antisocial I don’t like collaborating”, and on Actin Up he celebrates being able to afford designer clothes. Other highlights include Chemistry, Foreign with NAV, and Selection with DJ Scheme and Skrillex. He also reunites with hitmakers Internet Money on single Out Of Love and enlists more rising stars Polo G, Lil Durk and Guwop Reign.

Any assumptions made about the quality of hip-hop today are quickly dispelled by Virgo World. The vibe stays fun and overall it’s a celebration of where Tecca is now, and excitement for what’s to come from the burgeoning rap star.
