Album Review: 6ix9ine - TattleTales

The most controversial artist walking the earth today “6ix9ine” has released his new album “TattleTales” hot off the hype of him being released from prison earlier this year in controversial fashion.

6ix9ine opens the project with the strangest of combinations with Akon on the track “Locked Up PT. 2”. This is just a weird track to hear 6ix9ine on as I feel he is rapping to us as an audience as we should feel some type of sympathy for him for his actions that put him into prison in the first place. Overall it is a very hard opening track to listen to where 6ix9ine is heavily autotuned and trying to be melodic, this just didn’t hit right for me.

6ix9ine didn't do enough of what he does best on this project which his trademark arrogant screaming over heavy drum filled beats and the only song that we probably were gifted anything close to what he used to do was on the track “GOOBA” which still doesn’t quite hit the same for those fans who were all over his earlier project “Dummy Boy”. 6ix9ine doesn’t really settle on a certain type of genre or sound on this project which isn’t always a bad thing for an artist but he really doesn’t come across as versatile on this project as he would hope he is.

“Tattletales” certainly doesn’t live up to any sort of hype that is around the name or the drama that 6ix9ine carries around with him, the project is dull and very hard to listen to in parts. If anything I still don’t think a below-par album will stop 6ix9ine doing what he does because credit where credit is due to this guy still knows how to stay relevant and “trending”. Let's see what's next for the rap games favourite villain.
