Premiere: Jordan Gavet Releases Video For Empowering Song 'Do Better'

Today, rising Kiwi R&B star Jordan Gavet reveals a striking new video for her empowering anthem ‘Do Better’. Directed by Shae Sterling and styled by Sammy Salsa, watch the official music video above and stream the track, out now via Sony Music New Zealand HERE.

Gavet projects strong #BaddieVibes as she preaches self-empowerment and expression through a visual extravaganza, exploring the multiple facets of Jordan Gavet – from the “boss b*tch”, thegirl that can do both”, the “wifey material” to that “all glowed up girl”. In a song that speaks volumes for self-love, Gavet inspires us to be the best version of ourselves and learn from the past.

Speaking about the final act, in which Jordan slays in regal purple tones, “This facet of me represents coming out on the other side of things, always upgrading myself by using the lessons learnt to not only become better, but to find and take control of my peace and my happiness, and to have fun whilst doing so.”

Self-written by Gavet, ‘Do Better’ is a fun, upbeat love letter to moving on and realising your worth, produced by collaborator Willstah (Ariana Grande, DJ Mustard).“To me, ‘Do Better’ is a pep talk to myself which hopefully encourages others. It’s a reminder of what I bring to the table, to never settle, to celebrate and that the best is yet to come.”

Gavet’s down-to-earth lyricism and velveteen vocals broke into the wider public in September 2019 with the release of her debut single ‘Hesitation’, accompanied by a stunning video filmed in the Auckland suburb of Avondale by Kiwi Director Shae Sterling. Gavet’s sophomore single ‘Away’ followed in late 2019.

Raised in a musical household and surrounded by soul and gospel from a young age, Gavet has spent most of her life writing, recording and producing her own music. Discovered in 2017 on Soundcloud by P-Money, the multi-talented New Zealander has gone from strength to strength over the last couple of years. Forming a loyal fan base throughout the country, Gavet has supported the likes of 112, Bobby Valentino to kiwi megastar Stan Walker, alongside fellow upcoming acts Lepani and Niko Walters
