Both Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole are two rap superstars who have mastered the art of disappearing from the public eye. They can’t even be spotted in the streets by the paparazzi.

But there is some reassurance about Kendrick’s return at least. Top Dawg Entertainment CEO Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith told fans in a comment on Instagram that the rapper will be coming back with something new soon. “Stay patient king Kendrick will return soon,” he wrote during an Instagram live session on Monday night.

How soon is “soon,” we don’t know yet but we hope it’s really soon. Kendrick’s last album DAMN. came out in 2017, went triple platinum, and won a Pulitzer Prize as well as the GRAMMY for Best Rap Album. For the past year or so, fans have been really looking forward to new music from the Compton rapper as even his guest features run has been very limited.

Back in March, he launched a “service company” called pgLang in collaboration with good friend Dave Free. Not much detail has been available about the company since then.
