Nipsey Hussle Murder Trial Rescheduled

The trial date for Eric Holder, the man accused of shooting and killing Nipsey Hussle, has been pushed back to later this year. 

The high-profile murder trial was expected to begin proceedings in March for the March 31, 2019 slaying of the Los Angeles rapper and conclude by April 14. But that was before the coronavirus pandemic began. According to court documents obtained by Vibe, Holder’s next court date has been pushed back to June 8.

Courthouses and county clerk offices in California have reportedly been closed down statewide since March due to the governor’s stay-at-home directives. The order is expected to lift at the end of May for the state of California, according to Vibe, and court cases will presumably resume. 

Holder has remained in jail after he was arrested in connection to Nipsey Hussle’s murder. He has continued to plead not guilty to the six charges that have been brought against him, which includes murder, two counts of assault with a firearm and one count of possession of a firearm by a felon. 

If convicted, Holder faces up to a maximum of a life sentence in prison.
