Mikeyy Shares Video For 'What's Love'

2020 hasn’t stopped 18-year-old artist and producer Mikeyy, who after debuting on the festival scene on the sound splash lineup in Raglan, now shares his new r&b influenced track ‘What’s Love.’

Produced by platinum producer Mantra, (Future, Rihanna, Lil Yachty, Lil Nas X, Sean Kingston & more) “What’s Love” is a minimalistic, modern take on r%b, featuring stunning guitar riffs and calming vocal melodies performed by Mikeyy. The song’s vintage-inspired cover art links to Mikeyy’s middle eastern culture, with Arabic characters translating to “Men Cry Too” providing a subtle insight into what inspired the song. With lyrics in the breakdown like “I can see you got feelings you ain’t showing, make-believe that you don’t need your emotions” - Mikeyy complains about the very real stigma that men are supposed to suppress their emotions and pleads in the chorus “What’s Love got to do with it” paired with a processed female vocal layering his own. Ultimately, the song is about owning your emotions and not being afraid to visibly show them.
